A conventional way of viewing art in Dallas would be to visit the many galleries and art museums. If you are staying in the downtown area, you will find three centrally located, popular art museums. The Dallas Museum of Art is a great place to see wonderful works of art. There is an ever-changing selection as different art exhibits are brought in. This museum has a very clean atmosphere and a polite staff. It houses many multicultural exhibits and historic treasures. The Nasher Sculpture Centre, which is right next-door, includes an indoor gallery as well as an outdoor sculpture garden containing some large, spectacular pieces. This center is a museum to see on a nice day. At certain times, the Nasher also provides art activities for children. The MADI museum of geometric and madi art is a great place to view Dallas contemporary art. The permanent collection includes works from 1934 -2005 and its artists come from Hungary, Japan, Great Britain, USA, Argentina, and other countries in South America.
Also found in Dallas is a plethora of art galleries, both small and large. Most of these galleries sell local artists’ work on consignment. In uptown Dallas, check out Afterimage, Kristi Stubbs, and David Dike Galleries. The Dallas Design District is a hotspot for art galleries. Many of the galleries are located on Dragon Street. The Bishop Arts district is the ideal area to view Dallas contemporary art. The Decorazion and the Mighty Fine Arts galleries are located in this area. You will find all these and other galleries of merit in Dallas, as well as some additional ones in the Fort Worth area. Most would love it.” Also highly recommended by the locals is viewing the street art in Dallas. Taggers (graffiti artists) sometimes sell their work on or near Houston Street and also in downtown Fort Worth. It is a unique experience to be present as they spray paint the picture for you as you watch. They can paint almost anything, from a cowboy riding off into the sunset to a waterfall on an alien planet. This tagging is an exceptional form of local talent.

Allow yourself to fully experience the work.” Make sure not to pack too much in to one day.
