In Dots Unlimited, Esther Ritz investigates the concept of infinite repetition, optical frequency, and boundless visual rhythm. Born from the meditative discipline of Process Painting—where the hand moves from a place of intuitive presence without preparatory grids or calculations—the work dissolves traditional boundaries to create an all-over field of kinetic energy. Thousands of distinct pointillist marks coalesce across the 36 × 36 inch canvas, undulating in waves of subtle color variation and vibrational contrast. Rather than remaining static, the composition generates a rhythmic hum, giving the impression of an expansive field that extends infinitely beyond the perimeter of the frame.
